Miller Company provides management and direction for its portfolio of well-known and high-performing companies, and always seeks to support its mission to enrich lives and its vision to be the best place in town to work and the best place in town to do business.Reports to: Chief Financial OfficerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a talented professional to join us as a Director of Business Systems & Analytics to manage the enhancement and maintenance of data & technical solutions to plan and optimize our strategic real estate plans. The Director of Business Systems & Analytics plays a critical role in ensuring the efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of the organization's financial and inventory systems and processes. The Director of Business Systems & Analytics plays a key role in building reports and providing data for analysis in a succinct, organized, and reliable system that supports the organization and individual departments in decision-making and daily operations.Responsibilities

  • Serves as the lead for implementation, administration, and day-to-day operations of financial/data systems, user support, and application support across various finance, accounting, construction, inventory, and marketing applications.
  • Work with internal departments to automate various reporting metrics including, but not limited to, KPIs and financial dashboards.
  • Manage end-to-end project delivery, from initial requirements gathering to user testing and deployment. Facilitate internal team meetings and discovery workshops to understand business challenges and requirements and propose on-point solutions.
  • Monitor timing, scope, delivery, and quality of releases; ensure dependencies are managed and solutions meet agreed requirements and timeline.
  • Work across teams to ensure progress towards common goals and timely communication of project updates, risks, and/or impact to stakeholders.
  • Maintain technical documentation, review deliverables, develop communication plans, and drive user feedback into product improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation, stay current with technology trends, and prioritize activities for organizational value.
  • Oversight of business systems to ensure financial policy and procedure compliance as directed from the CFO and Vice President of Accounting.
  • Be the subject matter expert on financial systems to facilitate stable, scalable, and agile divisions.
  • Collaborate with LHMCO's Data Warehouse Director, Data Warehouse Engineer, and Report Writer to propose data schema and data flow optimization for reporting performance and enhancement as needed.
  • Analyze problems in terms of process and/or system functionality and apply analytical techniques to formulate, communicate, and implement solutions.
  • Assist management through researching and developing strategies to monitor and uphold record-keeping and reporting compliance.Experience & Skills
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, information systems, CIS/MIS, or a related field.
    • Proven track record of managing the delivery of data and technical solutions with consistent timeliness and quality outcomes.
    • Experience with CRE platforms (i.e., Yardi, MRI, CoStar, etc.) strongly desired.
    • Financial Process experience across all finance and accounting processes and cross-functional process knowledge.
    • Chart of Accounts design and financial master data management experience.
    • Results-oriented change agent who is an effective business system thinker.
    • Friendly and welcoming demeanor with the ability to maintain professionalism and a strong customer-focused demeanor with demanding clientele.
    • Excellent time management skills, detail-orientation, and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
    • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, along with advanced conflict resolution skills.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills and proficient in English. Must be able to articulate needs and convey information verbally and in writing effectively with employees, customers, supervisors, and co-workers throughout the organization.
    • 5+ years of experience in data, analytics, and insights related fields while delivering robust insights across organizational matrix.
    • Extensive experience in the use of tools for process improvement, project management, change management, and other improvement techniques.
    • Experience in the real estate industry a plus.Physical Requirements
      • Must have the ability to read and comprehend large quantities of information, operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, move, and carry up to 25 lbs. independently.
      • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move about office setting.
